A leading manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a Safety Officer to enforce safety regulations and conduct training sessions. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Safety & Health, along with 1-2 years of experience in a similar role. Responsibilities include evaluating workplace hazards, conducting audits, and liaising with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Enforce adherence to safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees, emphasizing the importance of compliance with safety procedures.
To identify analyses and evaluate workplace hazards to minimize occupational injury, illness and accident by regular factory inspection.
Conduct Safety inspection on site work activities to ensure accurate implementation of Risk Assessment & Safe Work Procedure in accordance with legal requirements.
Collaborate with respective departments to develop, prepare, implement Safety Policies Procedure.
To carry out investigation on all accidents and advise on preventive measure or action plans.
Liaise with external parties for any monitoring, inspection, testing and assessment activities related to Safety, Health & Environment.
Responsible for recording and reporting any safety and loss plan, accidents report and Safety Statistical reports for submission.
Liaise with DOSH/BOMBA/DOE and other related local authorities regarding to any schedule inspection & unscheduled inspection.
To investigate any accident, near miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease and report to DOSH thru JKKP6, JKKP7 & JKKP8.
Coordinate all the machineries permit renewal with JKKP is done according to its schedule.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, including safety manuals, records of safety meetings, and training records.
Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure that appropriate PPE is provided and used in accordance with safety regulations.
To perform any other ad hoc duties as and when required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree or Advance Diploma graduate with NIOSH or Safety & Health equivalent qualification.
At least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the Manufacturing field.
Familiarity with Safety & Health Act 1994 regulations and standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and audits.
