Job summary

A safety consulting firm is seeking a qualified Safety Officer in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all phases of operations. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Monitor and enforce safety standards across all deployment sites to safeguard personnel, contractors, and assets.
  • Ensure full compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations, project-specific safety requirements and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Draft, implement, and review company health & safety policies, SOPs, and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct safety induction and ongoing training programs for all employees.
  • Keep records of training, inspections, incidents, and safety meetings.
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Regularly inspect work areas, equipment, and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management and authorities as required.
  • Work with government agencies, auditors, contractors, and suppliers regarding safety matters.
  • To undertake any ad-hoc assignments as and when required.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysia’s safety regulations, OHSA compliance, and EHS best practices.
  • NTNSP certified.
  • DOSH (JKKP)-registered Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO).
  • CIDB Green Card Holder.
  • Knowledgeable in HIRARC.
  • Minimum 5 years and above experience in SHO.
  • Willing to travel.
