Job Scope: RBA Compliance Officer
1. RBA Standards Management
- Interpret and implement the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct across the organization.
- Monitor compliance with RBA requirements in areas such as:
- Labor & Human Rights
- Health & Safety
- Environmental Management
- Ethics & Anti-Corruption
- Responsible Sourcing
2. Policy & Procedure Development
- Develop, update, and communicate policies that align with RBA standards.
- Integrate RBA controls into existing company management systems (EHS, HR, Procurement, etc.).
- Ensure suppliers follow RBA-aligned requirements through contract clauses and compliance documents.
3. Internal Audits & Self-Assessments
- Conduct or coordinate RBA Validated Assessment Program (VAP) audits or internal equivalent audits.
- Perform regular Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQ) and risk assessments.
- Identify non-conformities and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
4. Supplier Compliance Management
- Evaluate supplier compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct.
- Conduct supplier audits or assessments; manage supplier risk scoring.
- Guide suppliers through corrective action plans and monitor closure status.
- Provide training and support to suppliers regarding RBA requirements.
5. Training & Awareness
- Provide RBA Code of Conduct training to employees, contractors, and internal teams.
- Raise awareness on topics such as forced labor, working hours, chemical management, grievance mechanisms, and ethics.
6. Incident Reporting & Investigations
- Maintain systems for grievance, whistleblowing, or ethics reporting.
- Investigate compliance issues (e.g., working hours violations, labor complaints, fraud, etc.).
- Document and report findings to management with corrective action proposals.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare compliance reports for customers, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive records required for RBA audits (policies, training logs, data sheets, labor records, etc.).
- Track KPIs such as working hour trends, audit performance, and supplier risk levels.
8. Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Manage customer inquiries, sustainability questionnaires, and audit requests.
- Act as the liaison with external auditors, government regulators, and RBA working groups if required.
- Support ESG/sustainability reporting related to labor, ethics, or responsible sourcing.
9. Continuous Improvement
- Monitor industry standards, emerging risks (e.g., forced labor laws), and customer expectations.
- Recommend system improvements to strengthen compliance performance.
- Support digitalization of compliance systems where possible.
