Job summary

A leading manufacturer of adhesive products based in Selangor seeks a skilled individual for R&D roles focused on developing Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) and tape products. You'll be tasked with formulating innovations based on customer needs and market trends, providing technical support to production teams, and ensuring documentation complies with quality standards. Candidates should hold a relevant degree and possess experience in adhesives or polymer products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in R&D, preferably in adhesives or polymer-based products.
• Hands-on experience in laboratory testing and formulation development.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Formulate new Pressure Sensitive Adhesive and tape products.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Formulate new Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) and tape products based on market requirements and customer specifications.
• Select, evaluate, and optimize raw materials with consideration for performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
• Scale up formulations from laboratory trials to pilot and full production levels, ensuring consistency and quality.

Technical Support

• Provide technical support to Production, Quality Control, and Sales teams.
• Troubleshoot formulation, processing, or application-related issues during manufacturing or customer usage.

Testing & Analysis

• Conduct physical, chemical, and performance testing of adhesives and tapes (e.g., peel strength, tack, shear).
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports and recommendations.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Research and evaluate new technologies, materials, and processes to enhance product performance and competitiveness.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing products to achieve cost reduction, performance enhancement, or process efficiency.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and systematic documentation of formulations, test results, trials, and development activities.
• Ensure R&D activities comply with internal standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in R&D, preferably in adhesives, tapes, coatings, or polymer-based products.
• Knowledge of PSA formulations, raw materials, and adhesive performance testing methods is an added advantage.
• Hands‑on experience in laboratory testing, data analysis, and formulation development.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work closely with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
