Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia is looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage tender preparation and cost estimation for MEP works. The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, familiarity with construction processes and contract management, and a relevant degree. The role includes attending client meetings and preparing Bill of Quantities, making it essential to have strong negotiation skills and proficient usage of related software.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in construction.
  • Knowledge in project review, contract conditions, and specifications.
  • Ability to prepare cost estimations and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender submissions and Bill of Quantity (BOQ).
  • Review tender documents and clarify queries.
  • Attend client meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Prepare cost estimation for MEP Works.

Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor

Responsible for tender preparation & submission.

Preparation of Bill of Quantity (BOQ) based on tender drawing & Specification.

Review of tender documents and prepare of tender queries to confirm and collect any missing data.

Attend technical meetings with the client / contractor and weekly progress meetings if required by the Project Manager.

Preparation of Cost Estimation for MEP Works (Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical) and Pricing, Rate Buildup of Materials, Labor, Plants, and other misc.

Invite the Quotation from Subcontractor / Supplier, Negotiation and Comparison, and ability to prepare pre-contract & tender activity.

Maintenance and update of Approved Subcontractor / Supplier database.

Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or equivalent.

5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in the construction Industry.

Knowledge in the initial review of projects, contract conditions, specifications, and design drawings.

Proficient in the use of construction-related software, such as cost estimation and project management tools;

Good knowledge and understanding in overall processes of cost and contract management, feasibility studies and tender process.
