Job summary

A leading construction project management firm is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor in Kuala Lumpur. Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates, managing project costs, and leading the tender process. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, at least 4 years of experience, and strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. This position is office-based with required site visits, adding a dynamic element to your role.

What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender documents for construction projects.

Evaluate contractor quotations and assist in tender clarification and negotiation processes.

Monitor and control project costs, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead tender process from review of tender documents, drawings, BOQs, tender evaluation, to recommendation of Award.

Assess and certify progress claims, variations, and final accounts submitted by contractors.

Conduct site visits to verify work progress and ensure compliance with contract specifications.

Prepare financial reports, cost analyses, and progress updates for management review.

Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project coordination and delivery.

Ensure compliance with contract conditions, procurement policies, and relevant industry standards.

Review Contractor’s/Supplier’s quotations and recommend cost‑effective solutions.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

Minimum 4 years of working experience in quantity surveying.

Strong knowledge in contract management, project management & development.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.

Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.

Possess high integrity, attention to detail, and a results‑driven attitude.

Working Conditions
  • Office‑based in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, with periodic site visits as required.
  • May require extended working hours depending on project timelines and deadlines.
