Job summary

A construction firm in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Quantity Surveyor responsible for pre and post-contract management. Candidates must hold a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying and have 4-5 years of experience in building projects. Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tender/quotation documents, review and submission.
  • Submission of budgetary estimates from construction drawings.
  • Responsible for monthly progress claims and finalization of accounts.
  • Coordinate with clients/consultants regarding contracts and variation orders.
  • Award contracts to subcontractors.
  • Monitor amendments to the scope of works and conditions of contract.

Pre Contract
  • Preparation of tender/quotation documents, review tender documents and submission of tender/quotation within a specific deadline.
Post Contract
  • Preparation and submission of budgetary estimates from construction drawings, bill of quantities for all disciplines and costs estimation.
  • Responsible for monthly progress claim, variation orders, finalize of accounts, prepare for sub-contractor payment certificate and final account.
  • Coordinate with client/consultant on the main contract and variation order when necessary.
  • Attend site valuation, site measurement and meetings when necessary.
  • Award of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.
  • Acquire quotation from contractors and suppliers for cost assessment, analysis or budgeting purposes.
  • Monitor on amendments to the scope of works and conditions of contract, variation order and apply extension of time if necessary.
  • Coordinate with finance department on payment, monitor monthly cash flow projection and generate relevant reports.
  • Any other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Familiar with tender documentation and process, valuation, award and final accounts.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of related experience and familiar with building projects.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving. Attention to details.
  • Responsible, able to prioritise duties and meet deadline.
