Job summary

A reputable construction firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to assist with contract administration, cost estimation, and project management. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Candidates with 1-3 years of experience are preferred, but fresh graduates may also apply. The role involves ensuring compliance with project specifications and budget controls.

Job description

Execution of head contract and subcontract requirements

Contract interpretation and drafting of correspondence

Participate in tender events and review scope, specifications, drawings, and contract conditions

Identify commercial, contractual, and technical requirements

Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, tender documentation and subcontract packages

Evaluate and compare quotations from subcontractors and suppliers

Preparation and submission of monthly progress claims

Identification, pricing, submission, and agreement of variations and variation orders

Pricing, submission, and agreement of extension-of-time claims

Perform cost control and budgeting throughout project phases

Assist in contract administration, including payment certificates and related documents

Manage project accounts and assist the Project Manager with accurate financial tracking and forecasting

Collating information for weekly and monthly project reports

Coordinate and manage project and site documentation

Maintain accurate project records and reporting

Liaise with clients, consultants, head contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams

Attend project meetings as required

Collaborate with project and site teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, cost, program, specifications, timelines, and budgets

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.

Minimum 1-3 years of relevant working experience (Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply - subject to company discretion).

Good knowledge of construction materials, cost control, and contract administration.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin are an added advantage.

Good communication and negotiation skills.
