Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least Diploma, Advanced, Higher, Graduate Diploma, or Degree in Engineering (Civil and Structural), Quantity Survey or equivalent.
- A minimum of 6 years and above of progressive experience in quantity surveying within the Interior Design & Build construction industry.
- Exhibit proficiency in budgeting, cost estimation, and cost control techniques.
- Possess strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract management principles.
- Demonstrate expertise in quantity surveying practices, including measurement, valuation, and cost analysis.
- Be proficient in using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word for quantity surveying tasks.
- Possess excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
- In-depth understanding of construction contracts, including preparation, negotiation, and administration.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards in Malaysia.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, detailed quotation and financial forecasts for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project scope.
- Manage procurement processes, including sourcing materials, negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Implement and maintain cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle, tracking expenditures, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions to stay within budget.
- Administer construction contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions, managing variations, and resolving contractual disputes in accordance with industry best practices and legal requirements.
- Conduct quantity surveying activities, such as measuring and quantifying materials, preparing bills of quantities, and verifying contractor payment claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract documents.
- Utilize AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word to prepare detailed quote.
- Collaborate with project managers, interior designers and other vendors to provide cost-related advice, identify potential risks, and develop value engineering solutions to optimize project outcomes.
