A construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to review plans, prepare estimates, and manage project budgets. The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree and has at least 2 years of experience in the construction field. Strong analytical skills, knowledge of construction, as well as excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills are essential. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu is required. The role involves liaising with stakeholders and on-site visits to ensure project success.
Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
Preparation of estimates such as preliminary estimate, approximate quantities estimates, pre-tender estimates
Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
Setting up structure of quantities take off & BQ.
Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
Handle progress claim, VO claim, progress payment, final account
Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
Working with team to identify queries arising from quantities takeoff,BQs and terms and conditions preparation process.
Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Management from time to time.
Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
Minimum 2 years of experience in constructions field
Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Sound knowledge of construction.
Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
Great networking abilities.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
Good command of both English and Bahasa Melayu.
