Job description

Employment Type: Full-Time | Client-facing role

IMPORTANT: This role is not remote. In-person client and team meetings in Klang Valley are required.

About Us

We are a Malaysia-based risk analytics SaaS startup, providing quantitative risk solutions and consulting services to financial institutions, including banks, asset managers, and insurance companies.

Our platform focuses on building industrial-grade quantitative risk engines across market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and climate risk, while actively integrating AI and machine learning into risk workflows. In addition to software delivery, we work closely with clients on model design, validation, stress testing, and regulatory-aligned analytics.

As a startup, we work as a small, tight-knit team. This is not an ordinary job. Every team member plays a meaningful role in shaping the product, supporting clients, and growing the company.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Quantitative Analyst to join our core team. This role goes beyond writing models — you will be a team member in a growing startup, working closely with founders, engineers, and clients.

Your contributions will directly move the needle: improving the product, solving real client problems, and helping the company scale. You are expected to think not only as a quant, but also as a problem-solver and collaborator.

While some flexibility for remote work is possible, this is a client-facing role. The successful candidate must be able to attend in-person meetings in the Klang Valley when required, including discussions with clients and internal team sessions.

Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in risk analysis with a solid understanding of financial markets, instruments, and portfolio behaviour.
  • Familiarity with derivatives and sell-side instruments, and their risk characteristics (e.g. volatility, sensitivities, scenario behaviour) is highly desirable.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, and quantitative finance, including concepts used to build, validate, and explain quantitative models.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, with attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Passion for new technologies, especially AI and machine learning, and interest in applying them to improve risk workflows.
  • Proficiency in programming for quantitative analysis, especially Python.
  • Ability to communicate quantitative results clearly, both in writing and verbally, to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional qualifications such as FRM, CQF or CFA (completed or in progress) are an advantage but not required.
What We Look For in a Team Member
  • Strong technical curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.
  • Communicates clearly and works well with others.
  • Understands that in a startup, impact matters more than job titles.
Why Join Us
  • Be part of a startup team where your work directly affects the product and company growth.
  • Work on real quantitative models used by financial institutions.
  • Gain exposure across multiple asset classes, clients, and regulatory contexts.
  • Learn how quantitative models are built, challenged, explained, and improved in practice.
  • Opportunity to grow with the company as it scales — both technically and professionally.
