Job summary

A leading bakery company in Malaysia is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure product quality through rigorous testing and analysis. Responsibilities include conducting environmental tests, managing quality holds, and ensuring compliance with GMP standards. Candidates should have a diploma in Food Technology or related fields and at least one year of relevant experience. Bilingual in Malay and English is essential. This role may require shift rotations and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Good technical knowledge in processing and laboratory methods.
  • Able to work in shift rotation and overtime when needed.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Responsible to perform analysis and sampling on raw materials, in-process quality control (IPQC) and finished product samples to ensure accurate testing and timely release to meet consumer demands.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring tests such as swabbing/air sampling.
  • Perform verification tests for laboratory equipment.
  • Place "Out of specification" material and/or product on quality hold and communicate quality holds with supervisors.
  • Perform routine inspection on processing area to ensure compliance with GMP, sanitation and process control.
  • Perform inspection on facility area in event of non-conformance.
  • Ensure compliance with all laboratory procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist in monitoring laboratory activities to be in compliance with GLP.
  • Manage documentation and filing of COA and other laboratory documents.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health and safety policy and other standards established.
  • Perform any other duties as required and assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Minimum one year of experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment (food production manufacturing an advantage).
  • SPM/Certificate/Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or other related fields.
  • Good technical knowledge in processing, laboratory methods and food science.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint & etc.).
  • Able to read and write in Malay and English.
  • Precise, accurate, well organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work in shift rotation.
  • Willing to work beyond normal working hours (overtime) when needed.
