A leading engineering firm in Subang Jaya is seeking a Welding Quality Manager to oversee welding quality management, ensure compliance with standards, and manage inspections. The successful candidate will need a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and welding inspection certification. Responsibilities include developing quality procedures, coordinating inspections, and conducting training for welding personnel. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement in welding processes and adherence to quality standards.
1.Authorise QC inspector to ‘stop Work’/’Reject’ instruction to fabricator/supplier on detecting item not conforming to drawing/code requirements.
2. Oversees contractor to perform pressure parts fabrication works, Non‑Destruction Testing (NDT), Post Weld heat treatment and Mechanical Lab Testing on Weld specimen.
Ensure welding processes meet specified standards. Select appropriate welding processes, materials, and consumables.
Investigate weld defects and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
Maintain welding‑related documentation as required by ISO 3834, such as:
Ensure full traceability of materials and welds as per project requirements.
Support continuous improvement of welding processes and quality systems.
Facilitate the Authorised Inspector (AI) for timely execution of inspection and documents reviews as per Quality Plan.
Timely inspection of inspection points identified in the Quality Plan for workshop/site.
Raising a Non‑Conformance Report (NCR) on detection of an item not conforming to code requirements and follow‑up on non‑conforming product until closure.
Compile and check accuracy of Manufacturer Data Record (MDR).

Possess a minimum qualification in bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
Able to read engineering prints and NDT results and make decisions whether a specification has been met.
Knowledge on Arc Welding process and specification.
Ability to use quality control instruments.
Knowledge of Spread sheet and Word Processing software.
Welding inspection certification by industry recognised body eg. JWES, CSWIP, PCN, ASNT…etc.
