The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures compliance with Part 145, SMS, regulatory requirements, and quality standards through leading audits, inspections, and documentation. The role drives quality initiatives, root cause analysis, and corrective actions while working with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and product integrity. The engineer also supports continuous improvement efforts and promotes quality awareness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance Monitoring: Assist Quality Assurance Manager to ensure organization’s compliance to regulatory, safety, quality and applicable standards requirements. Conduct and report on product, internal, supplier and line audits.
- Quality Control: Develop and update quality procedures, inspection checklists, and other protocols specific to MRO operations.
- Test and Inspection: Establish and maintain inspection instruction, equipment, measuring devices and application system for in-process and final inspection. Monitor process first time yield and collaborate with Engineering and Operations team for continuous improvement. Assess inspection personnel as necessary prior to authorization. Drive quality initiatives aimed at reducing customer returns, complaints, and internal escape rates through High Performance Team (HPT) projects.
- Measurement & Risk: Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and work on improving standard deviations. Lead risk assessments using Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and ensure mitigation measures are implemented. Conduct First Article Inspections for new or modified products, processes, equipment, and materials.
- Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA): Lead RCCA activities for Corrective Action Requests (CAR) through quality clinics and application of fundamental quality tools. Verify customer returns for validity and collaborate closely with Engineering to identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Manage the Corrective Action Request (CAR) system to ensure timely response and closure. Verify the effectiveness of CAPA implementation and take necessary actions for improvement.
- Engagement: Review quality concerns and suggestion submission and collaborate with other functions for on-time closure and timely resolutions. Communicate quality and product safety priorities, initiatives, and concerns through Quality Stand Down sessions, training programs, and One Point Lectures (OPL).

Qualification
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline, with at least 3 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably within MRO environment, aviation industry or manufacturing.
- Certified or trained ISO9001/AS9100 internal auditor.
- Able to interpret Part-145, SMS, and applicable standard requirements and formulate quality system manuals, procedures and work instructions.
- Understands Measurement System Analysis (MSA) particularly calibration, GR&R and Attribute Agreement Analysis.
- Well-versed with quality tools, risk assessment methods and First Article Inspection.
- Knowledge of regulatory, safety, and quality standards such as AS9100, FAA, or equivalent.
- Skilled in developing and updating quality procedures, inspection protocols, and checklists.
- Strong capability in root cause analysis and managing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation control.
- Ability to lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and High-Performance Teams (HPT).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and educate employees on quality and safety.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
