Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Control & Inspection
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality inspections
- Verify product specifications using measuring tools (micrometer, caliper, CMM, comtrace, hardness tester)
- Review SPC charts and perform sampling checks based on AQL or company standards
- Ensure inspection documents and reports are properly maintains
2. Non-Conformance & Defect Management
- Lead investigations on product defects, non-conformities (NCR), and customer complaints
- Conduct root-cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, or FMEA
- Develop, implement, and follow up corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Work closely with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues
3. Quality System & Documentation
- Maintain and improve ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems
- Prepare quality reports, control plans, FMEA, SOPs, and inspection standard sheets
- Support internal audits and external customer audits
4. Customer & Supplier Quality Management
- Communicate quality concerns, reports, and technical data to customers
- Assist customers during visits, audits, or product sampling stages
- Monitor supplier performance and review incoming material quality
5. Continuous Improvement Activities
- Analyze quality trends and initiate improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and customer claims
- Support Kaizen, Lean, and 5S activities to enhance quality performance
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) by setting quality checkpoints and specifications
Skill Requirements
- Good understanding of mechanical measurements, tolerances, and GD&T
- Hands-on experience with inspection equipment: Micrometer, caliper, bore gauge, CMM (preferred), Hardness tester, Surface roughness tester
- Knowledge of quality tools: SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, 8D reports, 5 Why, Root cause analysis
- Familiarity with powdered metal, metal components, automotive parts, or machining industries is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with Japanese manufacturing practices (Kaizen, 5S, PDCA) is beneficial
Job Requirement
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, QA/QC Engineering, or related field
- Experience in quality assurance within metal/automotive/precision manufacturing is preferred
- Fresh graduates with strong inspection knowledge may be considered for junior roles
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is an advantage
