As a QA Engineer in metal fabrication, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of metal products through systematic testing, inspection, and process improvement. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold and enhance the overall quality standards of metal fabrication processes, guaranteeing that the final products meet or exceed industry regulations and client specifications.
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance procedures for metal fabrication processes.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Design and execute testing protocols for raw materials, in-process production, and finished metal products.
- Utilize various testing methods, such as destructive and non-destructive testing, to assess the structural integrity and quality of metal components.
- Maintain detailed records of inspection and testing results.
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, deviations, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quality-related information effectively.
- Identify areas for process improvement and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions.
- Provide input to design and engineering teams to enhance product manufacturability and quality.
- Evaluate and monitor the quality of incoming raw materials from suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and implement improvements in the supply chain.
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and certifications related to metal fabrication.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with relevant quality standards and certifications.
- Provide training and guidance to production teams on quality standards, testing procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Requirements / Skillset
- Degree in engineering, applied science or equivalent with relevant work experience.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in quality roles in semiconductor industry.
- Familiar with quality tools including 7QC tools, 5 Whys, FMEA, 8D technique etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Proficient in data analysis and able to drive production line for quality improvement.
- Must be skilled in writing detailed SOP, work instructions.
- Understand ISO9001:2015 requirements with ability incorporate customer specific requirement into QMS.
- Candidates with ASQ Certified Quality Engineer will be added advantage.
