A leading procurement firm in Malaysia is looking for an experienced procurement manager. The role involves developing long-term procurement strategies, leading supplier selection, and negotiating complex contracts. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in procurement, including at least 5 years in management within a manufacturing environment. Fluency in Mandarin and English is required. This position offers a chance to lead a team and drive significant improvements in supply chain efficiency.
Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies that align with the company’s manufacturing goals and financial targets.
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Lead the identification, evaluation, and selection of high-quality suppliers globally (with a focus on China) to ensure cost-competitiveness and supply security.
Cost Reduction & Value Engineering: Analyze market trends and raw material price fluctuations to implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
High-Level Negotiation: Lead complex negotiations for annual contracts, framework agreements, and credit terms with key strategic partners.
Supply Chain Risk Management: Develop contingency plans (Buffer stocks, secondary sourcing) to mitigate risks related to logistics delays, geopolitical shifts, or factory shutdowns.
Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor the procurement team, setting KPIs and driving a culture of continuous improvement and ethical sourcing.
Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Finance departments to optimize inventory levels and ensure 100% material availability for production.
ERP & Process Digitalization: Champion the use of ERP systems and data analytics to automate workflows and improve the transparency of procurement spend.
