Wuerth Industrial Services Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced, responsible and detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to join our team in Subang Jaya, Selangor. As a Purchasing Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing purchasing activities of materials, supplies, and services, both domestically and internationally, to support the company's operations and coordinate with other departments to maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring smooth business operation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Sourcing and purchasing standard fasteners, special fasteners, chemicals, personal protective equipment, industrial tools, and accessories as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
• Coordinating with sales to assess delivery schedules and determine specific approaches for regular and urgent deliveries.
• Communicating with suppliers, forwarders, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery.
• Clarifying item descriptions, material components, cost estimates, risks, resources, and follow-up status of orders.
• Observing product quality, inventory conditions, and manufacturing changes, reporting relevant information, and making adjustments when needed.
• Managing and evaluating suppliers, including negotiating bids and contracts while balancing costs, product volumes, and lead times.
• Handling product change requests from customers, partners, or internal staff.
• Monitoring and managing inventory to ensure smooth inventory flow and minimum stock levels.
• Supporting all purchasing activities to ensure they are performed effectively and efficiently.
• Performing daily tasks in the absence of other purchasing staff.
• Carrying out any duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in the Wholesale and Distribution or Industrial Supply industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in SAP (purchasing module), purchasing software and/or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Collaborative team player with a proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering, or a closely related field.
