Job summary

A leading construction firm in Petaling Jaya seeks an experienced procurement specialist to oversee purchasing activities, negotiate with suppliers, and evaluate vendor performance. Candidates must have 5–7 years of relevant experience in the construction industry and hold a degree in Business Administration or similar. Strong communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the firm's growth and operations.

Qualifications

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Plan, control and monitor the implementation of daily purchasing activities.
  • Conduct product research and source new suppliers and negotiate the most cost‑effective deals.
  • Proactively evaluate existing or prospective vendors and suppliers in terms of quality consistency, on‑time deliveries and competitive pricing while maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Coordinate and liaise with related departments and project sites on order status, delivery time and cost control.
  • Report and collaborate closely with the Head of Department to develop and implement procurement strategies.
Qualifications
  • Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of purchasing experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation and administrative skills, with a high level of discipline and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Required languages: Bahasa Malaysia & English. Knowledge of Mandarin is an added advantage.
