Job description

Work closely with architects and façade consultants to translate architectural visions into compelling lighting concepts.

Generate conceptual sketches, lighting narratives, and mood boards for client presentations.

Develop detailed lighting layouts, wiring schematics, fixture mounting details, and control system diagrams.

Specify lighting fixtures, drivers, controls, and accessories suited to Malaysia’s climate, electrical standards, and building codes.

Liaise with project teams, contractors, and suppliers throughout tendering, procurement, and installation phases.

Review shop drawings, mock‑up samples, and factory test results for compliance with design intent.

Ensure all lighting designs meet Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) standards and relevant local council regulations (DBKL, MBPJ, etc.).

Incorporate energy‑efficient and low‑maintenance lighting systems aligned with GBI, LEED, or GreenRE requirements.

Prepare clear technical documentation, reports, and visualizations for client approval.

Present designs and mock‑ups to clients and authorities when necessary.

Work in tandem with internal design, M&E, and BIM teams for coordination and quality assurance.

Attend site inspections, assist with aiming/focus sessions, and participate in commissioning and testing.

Specify suitable lighting fixtures and control systems that meet aesthetic, performance, energy‑efficiency, and budget requirements.
