Responsibilities
- Engage in design processes to align with operational, technical, strategic, and financial objectives.
- Direct design reviews and value engineering to guarantee that projects are functional, efficient, safe, cost-effective, and compliant.
- Collaborate with consultants and project teams to swiftly address design challenges and maintain project momentum.
- Confirm that design outputs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines, supporting effective risk management and preparedness.
- Review tender documents, drawings, and Bills of Quantities for clarity, accuracy, regulatory compliance, and safety; resolve gaps to avoid delays and extra costs.
- Provide technical input during procurement evaluation stage.
- Submit required documentation to regulatory bodies and serve as primary contact to ensure prompt approvals; maintain project compliance with all regulations.
- Oversee construction to ensure design, quality, safety, and schedule compliance; assess contractor performance via site visits and compliance checks; resolve on-site issues quickly; confirm contractors meet contract, quality, regulatory, and safety requirements; share progress reports with senior management.
- Monitor project budgets, review contractor claims and changes to control costs and limit risks; apply corrective measures to stay within budget; allocate resources efficiently to achieve timely, cost-effective results.
Education and Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a closely related technical field is required.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of authority/regulatory requirements relevant to large-scale marine infrastructure projects.
- At least 12 years of experience overseeing major infrastructure initiatives, with proven capabilities in detailed designs coordination, tender management, contractor oversight, and compliance with regulatory standards.
