The Project Engineer is responsible for driving profitable and sustainable sales growth across Asia while ensuring effective execution of awarded projects. This role bridges sales, engineering, and project management functions by leading business development initiatives, supporting proposals, and overseeing project delivery to meet commercial, technical, schedule, and budgetary objectives.
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and generate profitable and sustainable sales growth for Faeth companies across Asia.
- Represent Faeth companies in Asia during negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments, and other key stakeholders to secure optimal commercial and contractual terms.
- Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with customers, government bodies, local authorities, key decision-makers, and industry stakeholders to ensure alignment with market needs and service expectations.
- Develop and maintain effective marketing and public relations strategies to promote Faeth’s products, services, and corporate image across the region.
- Work closely with the Project Director to develop and implement effective pricing strategies.
- Proactively pursue new business opportunities to support long-term growth and market expansion in Asia.
- Identify emerging markets, market trends, and competitive activities, maintaining awareness of new products and competitor positioning.
- Analyse sales pipeline and lead data, providing periodic reports to the Project Director with actionable business insights.
- Typical reporting includes demand generation, pipeline forecast and trends, conversion rates, target accounts, market segmentation, win/loss analysis, and pipeline ageing.
- Report key performance indicators and overall business performance of Faeth companies in Asia to the Sales Director Asia.
Proposal & Project Management Support
- Support proposal and project teams in overseeing construction and implementation activities, including preparation of bid documents, contractor selection, and supervision of contract works.
- Lead project planning and implementation activities, including:
- Development of detailed project plans
- Definition of project scope and tasks
- Resource allocation and budget management
- Scheduling and monitoring of project timelines
- Tracking of deliverables to ensure project targets are achieved
- Review project targets at each project phase to ensure compliance with approved budgets, cash flow requirements, schedules, and quality standards.
- Conduct project risk assessments and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Technical & Execution Oversight
- Liaise with and manage suppliers and sub-contractors, ensuring adherence to agreed scope of work, schedules, and performance standards for system or equipment installation.
- Work closely with the CAD team on P&IDs, design layouts, and functional or technical improvements in line with project scope and requirements.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to the project team and coordinate with service and maintenance teams to ensure timely system start-up, testing, and certification.
- Prepare, review, manage, and maintain all project documentation required by customers, consultants, and authorities to achieve final system or equipment acceptance.
Duties and Responsibilities Summary

REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Solid project management and engineering background
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, with the ability to review technical proposals using AutoCAD, CAD or 3D design software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work across sales, technical, and operational teams
- Team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Required language(s): English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is optional for support China Staff).
- Willingness and readiness to travel overseas as required.
