Job summary

A construction company in Penang is seeking a Project Coordinator for Mechanical & Electrical works. The candidate will oversee daily site operations, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and ensure quality installation according to standards. Responsibilities include preparing technical documentation, participating in project meetings, and handling inspections. A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, along with experience in construction, is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar project coordinator or M&E coordinator role in the construction industry.
• Ability to prepare M&E coordination drawings and work progress reports.
• Ensure quality installation of M&E works per approved specifications.

Responsibilities

• Attend joint inspections for testing and commissioning of M&E installations.

Job description

Project Coordinator (Mechanical & Electrical)

Oversee daily site work and contractor activities, monitor site progress and report updated to the Project Manager.

Coordinate with clients, consultants & Subcontractors on technical matters.

To prepare M&E coordination drawings, installations/T&C & QAQC check sheets, work progress report and other relevant documents for M&E related works with project teams.

Ensure quality installation of M&E works as per approved shop drawings. specification and schedules.

Participate in project coordination meetings to ensure smooth workflow.

Attend join inspection for testing and commissioning of M&E installations

To liaise and work with relevant subcontractors on submission for shop drawings, equipment's or materials. inspection, testing requirements and commissioning.

Carry out any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Proficient in Microsoft office

Proficient in AutoCAD

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar project coordinator or M&E coordinator role in the construction industry
