Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Penang, Malaysia is looking for a Production Supervisor to manage production activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality standards, and productivity targets. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations and a strong background in process control and team management. Responsibilities include overseeing daily production tasks, managing operator performance, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Job description

Manage overall production activities, including productivity improvement, output achievement, and scrap control.

Lead, supervise, and support operators in daily tasks such as assembly, crimping, soldering, testing, and inspection, ensuring adherence to SOPs and work instructions.

Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to meet output, productivity, and delivery targets.

Oversee order change implementation, tooling preparation, and changeover processes to ensure readiness of tooling, materials, and setup before production begins.

Ensure proper and safe use of tools, equipment, machinery, and materials in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Maintain process control activities including scrap recording, material shortage transactions, and documentation accuracy.

Perform first article inspections prior to mass production and ensure process discipline throughout production.

Track, record, and control raw material usage to ensure material accuracy and traceability.

Ensure all products meet customer specifications and internal quality requirements.

Identify, report, and escalate quality issues or process deviations promptly.

Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in root cause analysis for defects or recurring issues.

Ensure compliance with quality management systems and related procedures.

Enforce compliance with production safety rules and monitor safe working behavior among operators.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment in line with 5S standards.

Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or potential hazards immediately.

Record daily production output, machine downtime, scrap levels, manpower attendance, and other relevant production data accurately.

Track raw material usage, verify records, and ensure complete material traceability.

Prepare and submit production reports and line performance updates to supervisors or department heads.

Provide timely feedback on production issues and recommend improvement actions.

Manage line discipline, operator performance, and workforce distribution to ensure smooth operations.

Train, coach, motivate, and develop operators to enhance their skills and overall performance.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Foster teamwork, effective communication, and strong work discipline among operators.

Lead daily meetings to communicate plans, issues, and operational updates clearly.

Drive scrap reduction, productivity improvement, and output achievement efforts.

Manage operator allocation and workflow distribution to support production targets.

Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum SPM or Certificate/Diploma in Manufacturing, Electrical, or related fields.

At least 2 years of hands‑on leadership experience managing production operators or assembly line operations, preferably in electronics or cable manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of process control, employee supervision, and production line management.

Good understanding of production safety practices, quality control, and quality management systems.

Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to read and follow work instructions in English and/or Chinese; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.

Willing to work weekends or overtime when required.

Responsible, proactive, disciplined, and able to perform under pressure.
