Sumimetal Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SMI) was established in 1990 as a joint-venture arrangement between P.P.Steel Group, Nagoya Alumi Centre Co. Ltd. and Sumikin Bussan International. Now, with annual production capacity of 30,000MT, SMI is one of the state-of-the-art integrated leading aluminium smelting plant in Malaysia, Bukit Rambai Industrial Area, Melaka.

As an X-ray aluminum separator machine Production Executive operates and maintains specialized equipment that uses X-ray technology to separate aluminum from other materials. This role requires a combination of technical skills in operating and troubleshooting the machine, as well as knowledge of radiation safety protocols and quality control.

Job Description (Key Responsibilities)

1. Production Management: Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and procedures to meet production targets and deadlines.
2. Machine Operation: Operating the X-ray aluminum separator machine to process materials, ensuring efficient and accurate separation. Improving machine efficiency, optimizing the process, implement yield improvement and cost reduction programs.
3. Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in production processes, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
4. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs on the X-ray equipment and related machinery. Ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
5. Quality Control: Ensure the quality of the separated aluminum and the overall process by conducting regular checks and adjustments. To ensure all aspect of an operations or process meet according to specific requirements.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict safety protocols and radiation safety guidelines to protect themselves and others from radiation exposure. Promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of machine operation, maintenance, and quality control data. Prepare regular reports on production performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
8. Material Handling: Handling materials being processed by the machine, including loading, unloading, and sorting.
9. Collaboration: Working with other team members, such as engineers, supervisors, and other technicians, to optimize the separation process and address any issues.
10. Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues related to machine performance, material quality, or safety.

Requirements & Skills

• Academic: Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering or equivalent. A foundation in electronics, physics, radiography and good in mathematics is beneficial.
• Experience: Fresh graduates encouraged to apply. Possess 1-2 years working experience in related field is beneficial.
• Languages: Able to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. Proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with clients.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for production planning and reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead by example.
