Job summary

A leading medical technology company based in Johor, Malaysia, is looking for a Formulation Process Engineer to design and optimize injection molding processes. Job description

1. Responsible for SMT and D/U production lines, from equipment and production processes to product production, trial production and mass production.
2. Responsible for SMT and D/U production flow formulation
3. Product DFX, defect analysis and countermeasures, yield rate improvement and achievement
4. Draft and implement the CR, SOP, PCN, ECN, ISO documents.
5. Any ad-hoc tasks as when required

Requirements

• Candidate MUST possess at least Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in any field or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experiences are preferred.
• Good oral and written skills in English, Bahasa Malay & Mandarin will be an advantage.

• Injection molding operations (including machine setup, process parameters, and yield improvement)
• Mold assembly, maintenance, installation, removal, inspection and analysis and troubleshooting of molding and mold issues
• Adjusting temperature and pressure devices to maintain specified processing conditions
• Adjustment and troubleshooting of peripheral equipment (such as shearing machines, palletizers, ultrasonic machines, and robotic arms)
• Reducing product defect rates and maintaining normal operation of mass production machines

Requirements

• Proficiency in PRO-E software or Auto CAD

Formulation Process Engineer

• Responsible for the design and optimization of injection molding processes for new projects, determining process parameters, and preparing process documentation.
• Lead mold debugging, trial runs, and production issue analysis; propose long‑term improvement plans and track implementation results.
• Responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep of molding machines and molds.
• Monitor molding production status, analyze causes of defective products, implement improvements, and increase product pass‑through rate.
• Manage a molding technology team of 2–3 people and provide technical guidance on process parameters and mold‑related issues.
• For new product mold development, provide preliminary manufacturability analysis (DFM).

• Experience working in a plastic injection molding factory or plastic injection mold factory, with 2–3 years of experience in injection molding process debugging or equipment operation. Must have hands‑on experience in adjusting machine parameters such as pressure, speed, and temperature.
• Experience as a mold fitter or in mold assembly, or experience in mold repair, disassembly, and replacement of mold components.
• Practical experience operating one or more mainstream injection molding machines (refer to Japanese, Chinese, or Taiwanese brands), such as: FANUC (Japan), TOYO (Japan), SUMITOMO (Japan), MISSEI (Japan), MITSUBISHI (Japan), Haitian HT (China), Chen Hsong (China), Lien Yu (Taiwan), JSW (Japan Steel Works), TOSHIBA (Japan), MEIKI (Japan), KAWAGUCHI (Japan).
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Malay.
• Execution of new process and new technology evaluations, formulation of new model tooling planning documents, Design and production of various production line jigs and fixtures
• Setup and GRR verification of production line tooling
• Analysis, review, and improvement of tooling defects during trial and mass production stages
• For outsourced modules, handling the transfer of tooling, signing off on transfer documentation, and participating in trial production
• Miniaturization and error‑proofing improvements of production line tooling to enhance production efficiency Tooling fabrication and processing

Requirement

• Education: Diploma/Bachelor's degree and major in Mechanical Engineering
• More than two years of factory work experience, familiar with production‑related equipment, tooling maintenance, electronic circuit development, or 2D/3D drawing capabilities.
• Other Requirements: Experience in independently designing and introducing at least 10 tooling items into the production line.
