Production-cum-Safety Executive (Pandamaran)
The company, incorporated in 1977, operates in the plastic packaging sector, manufacturing High Density Polythene (HDPE), Low Density Polythene (LDPE), Polypropylene (PP) bags, and oxo-biodegradable TDPA carrier bags. With a broad clientele across Malaysia and Southeast Asia and exports to Australia, Europe, and the Middle East, it offers a dynamic production environment.
Responsibilities
- Update daily maintenance activities, including machine repairs and breakdowns, into the ERP system.
- Maintain and update records of new and obsolete machinery.
- Input machine breakdown reports into the ERP system.
- Monitor and record production running hours.
- Liaising with vendors in servicing air compressors.
- Conduct daily checks and assist in troubleshooting and calibrating gravimetric machines.
- Monitor the status of goods hoists and coordinate servicing every three months based on SLK inspections.
- Oversee receiver tank status and ensure annual cleaning reports are prepared following SLK inspections.
- Inspect and test the Hose Reel Bomba System and Fire Alarm Panel System.
- Coordinate and support fire extinguisher renewals.
- Participate in factory and hostel fire drills, including biennial firefighting exercises with BOMBA.
- Support the creation and revision of technical drawings, including spare parts, screw barrels, plant layouts, and hostel layouts.
- Assist in drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions across departments.
- Distribute revised ISO 9001:2015 documents and support Document Control Center (DCC) activities.
- Monitor the disposal of scheduled waste, ensuring compliance with 6-monthly or 20-ton disposal requirements.
- Update the e-SWIS portal for each disposal event and maintain monthly inventory records.
- Ensure compliance with Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA), JKKP, and GRS requirements.
- Collaborate with the HR department to conduct safety training sessions for operators.
- Support Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) management and address safety matters during audits.
- Participate in accident reporting and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Renew the annual Diesel certificate and submit reports for Energy Efficiency Management (EEM) every six months.
- Coordinate annual drinking water tests and ensure timely submission of JKKP 6 & JKKP 8 reports.
- Monitor and maintain JKKP documents, including factory inspections, meeting minutes, organizational charts, audiometric tests, and training records.
- Monitor CCTV status and recommend upgrades or renewals for improvement.
- Oversee solar system performance, assist contractors during inspections, and manage system restarts during tripping events.
- Support Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements by attending inspections and implementing recommended actions.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Certificated in Scheduled Waste Management (CepSWAM).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, safety, or facility management roles.
- Proficient in using ERP systems for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Familiarity with Malaysian regulatory bodies such as JKKP, DOE, and ST.
- Strong understanding of fire safety systems, scheduled waste management, and environmental compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Willing to work in Pandamaran, Port Klang.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm; Saturday 8.30pm to 1.00pm.
