Job summary

A food ingredient company in Johor is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to source suppliers and manage purchasing tasks. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Business Administration or a related field, strong organizational skills, and experience in a similar role. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is essential, with Mandarin being an advantage. Responsibilities include conducting supplier research, handling purchase requisitions, and preparing reports while ensuring data accuracy.

Qualifications

  • At least Diploma in Business Administration or relevant field.
  • Experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer, or similar role. Fresh graduates welcomed.
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Source food & feed ingredients suppliers in the Asia Pacific.
  • Conduct cold calls to find new suppliers.
  • Research and compile information from multiple sources.
  • Plan and execute deliverables with key research highlights.
  • Discuss suppliers' details with the manager and follow up.
  • Handle existing suppliers and issue purchase orders.
  • Provide documentation support as required.
  • Prepare reports for supplier reviews.

Job description

Sourcing of food & feed ingredients suppliers (Asia pacific area) to support sales trading business development

Consistent cold call to hunt for new suppliers

To do research thru multiple resources including online & compile

Planning and executing deliverables to capture key research highlights

Discuss each potential supplier’s details with manager and understand the next action required

Handle existing suppliers, purchase requisition and issue purchase order to supplier

Documentation support as required

Prepare weekly or monthly report to manager for each supplier’s review purpose and ensure data is accurate

Other job role required by manager or company to support business development

Job Requirements
  • At least Diploma in Business Administration, or relevant field
  • Work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer, Market Survey or similar role (Fresh graduates are welcomed)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Good communication skills and digital marketing skills
  • Detail-oriented and adaptable
  • Ability to work independently the analysis of customized research with least supervision along with excellent time management skills
  • Required language(s) : Bahasa Malaysia and English, Mandarin will be an added advantage
