Job summary

A leading supplier company in Johor, Malaysia is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to support business development efforts. Responsibilities include sourcing food and feed ingredients suppliers, managing existing supplier relations, and preparing reports for review. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in business administration, experience in purchasing roles, and skills in digital marketing and MS Office. This position allows for independent analysis and requires effective time management skills.

Qualifications

  • At least Diploma in Business Administration, or relevant field.
  • Work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer, Market Survey or similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing suppliers in the Asia Pacific area to support sales.
  • Consistent cold calls/emails to hunt for new suppliers.
  • Compile research from multiple resources and present findings.
  • Plan and execute deliverables to capture key highlights.
  • Discuss potential supplier details with the manager.

Responsibilities
  • Sourcing of food & feed ingredients suppliers (Asia Pacific area) to support sales trading business development
  • Consistent cold call/cold email to hunt for new suppliers
  • To do research through multiple resources, including online & compile
  • Planning and executing deliverables to capture key research highlights
  • Discuss each potential supplier’s details with the manager and understand the next action required
  • Handle existing suppliers, purchase requisitions, and issue a purchase order to the supplier
  • Documentation support as required
  • Prepare a weekly or monthly report to the manager for each supplier’s review purpose and ensure data is accurate
  • Other job role required by the manager or company to support business development
Requirement
  • At least Diploma in Business Administration, or relevant field
  • Work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer, Market Survey or similar role (Fresh graduates are welcomed)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Good communication skills and digital marketing skills
  • Detail-oriented and adaptable
  • Ability to work independently the analysis of customized research with least supervision along with excellent time management skills
  • Required language(s) : Bahasa Malaysia and English, Mandarin will be an added advantage
