Job summary

A manufacturing firm in Johor is looking for an experienced professional to develop and oversee Automated Visual Inspection programs. The candidate will optimize machine performance, analyze defect detection capabilities, and collaborate with QA and production teams. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2-3 years of relevant experience are required, along with a strong understanding of inspection criteria. This role is pivotal in ensuring product quality and improving inspection processes.

Job description
Advanced Assembly Materials – Pasir Gudang, Johor

Develop, implement, and continuously improve AVI (Automated Visual Inspection) programs to ensure accurate defect detection and compliance with product specifications and quality standards.

Oversee the setup, parameter optimization, and performance of AVI machines to enhance inspection efficiency and reliability.

Conduct trials, analyze AVI detection capabilities, and provide feedback to manufacturing for process adjustments that minimize defect generation.

Collaborate with QA, Production, and R&D teams to identify root causes of defects, implement corrective and preventive actions, and integrate AVI systems effectively into the production workflow.

Inspect and determine acceptance of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods through visual and measurement tests.

Maintain and document inspection results, reports, and records for audits and customer reviews.

Propose quality improvement initiatives and support management in product quality enhancement decisions.

Train and certify operators and inspectors on AVI system usage, defect identification, and inspection procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical or related fields) or equivalent experience.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in operating or managing inspection machine in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.

Strong knowledge of defect types and inspection criteria in manufacturing, particularly leadframes.

Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 8D, 5 Whys).

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, commitment for continuous improvement and a commitment to quality assurance.
