A leading glass manufacturer in Malaysia is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to oversee surface preparation and bonding technologies. The role includes monitoring production readiness, optimizing cleaning and bonding processes, and providing technical support for troubleshooting issues. The ideal candidate will drive innovation and reliability engineering efforts, while also mentoring junior engineers and maintaining critical documentation in compliance with standards.
Monitor and guide mass production readiness of develop
Refine cleaning (automatic), plasma treatment, silane application, and adhesive/optical bonding towards mass production based on R&D processes.
Monitor and control defined process specifications, control limits, and quality standards to ensure consistent performance. Manage documentation in terms of content and quality standards.
Trigger and lead process capability studies, yield and UPH improvement initiatives, and reliability validation.
Drive implementation and optimization of automatic cleaning systems for glass and substrate preparation. Optimize plasma treatment parameters to enhance surface energy and bonding strength.
Validate silane coupling agents and adhesives application process for structural and optical bonding.
Implement precision bonding techniques such as UV curing, and alignment.
Work closely with NPI teams to support process readiness and manufacturability of new designs.
Collaborate with mass production teams to ensure process stability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting and root cause analysis of bonding-related issues.
Evaluate new materials, equipment, and methods to improve process robustness and scalability.
Lead reliability testing and failure analysis to ensure long-term product performance.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and deviation management.
Prepare detailed reports on process performance, deviations, and improvement initiatives.
Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Facilitate knowledge sharing by creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
