Job summary

A leading international technology company in Malaysia is looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to oversee production layout planning. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering and 6-8 years of experience in layout, capacity, and headcount planning. Strong skills in project management, analytics, and leadership are essential. Responsibilities include coordinating layout plans, working closely with teams to optimize space, and establishing budgetary plans. This position supports product transfers and new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Min. 6-8 years of related experience in layout, capacity and headcount planning.
• Experience working in a global environment is advantageous.
• Strong familiarity with time motion study, value stream mapping & process mapping.

Responsibilities

• Own production layout planning and develop strategic space planning.
• Establish layout plans for NPI start-up or product transfer.
• Coordinate with Operation Team and Facilities Team for re-layout activities.
• Work out budgetary for quarterly and annual planning.
• Lead project implementation and conduct market surveys for solutions.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Own production layout planning. Develop long term strategic space planning and short-term execution plan
• Establish layout plan to support NPI start-up or product transfer
• Coordinate and work closely with Operation Team and Facilities Team to execute re-layout activities without any safety issue
• Budgetary: Work out budgetary for quarterly and annual planning
• Lead and drive project implementation including performing market survey to come out best solution.
• Coach junior IE to resolve issues related to layout or budgetary. Provide guidance on capacity analysis or headcount analysis to junior IE.
• Introduce industry practice related to layout, capacity and headcount planning for efficiency improvement.
• Driving productivity improvement to optimize space utilization or headcount efficiency.
• Leverage lean or VSM to eliminate waste or improve process / material flow.
• Expand the scope as IE representative to support MES implementation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering discipline from a recognized university
• Min. 6-8 years of related experience in layout, capacity and headcount planning
• Experience working in global environment will add advantage.
• Strong project management skills and experience will add advantage
• Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong familiarity in time motion study, value stream mapping & Process mapping
• Good leadership and strong communication skills to lead productivity improvement
