Job summary

A project management consulting firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Primavera (P6) Consultant. The candidate will support project planning, scheduling, and control activities. Responsibilities include implementing Primavera P6, managing project schedules, conducting schedule analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a degree in Engineering or IT, at least 2–5 years of experience with Oracle Primavera P6, and strong communication skills. Knowledge of project management methodologies is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–5 years’ experience working with Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PMI/PMBOK preferred).
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or oil & gas projects is an advantage.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Primavera (P6) Consultant to support project planning, scheduling, and control activities across our projects. The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance on Primavera P6 setup, implementation, schedule optimization, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, configure, and maintain Primavera P6 for project teams.
  • Develop, update, and manage project schedules, baselines, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Perform schedule analysis, critical path analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Stakeholders to ensure accurate project planning and execution.
  • Produce dashboards, progress reports, and performance metrics (EV, PV, AC, SPI, CPI).
  • Train and support internal teams in Primavera best practices and tools.
  • Troubleshoot Primavera issues and ensure system data integrity.
  • Assist in integrating Primavera with other enterprise systems when required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Project Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years’ experience working with Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PMI/PMBOK preferred).
  • Proficiency in creating schedules, resource loading, and activity sequencing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects is an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Primavera Risk Analysis, Unifier, or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with EVM (Earned Value Management).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
