THE ROLE:

AMD’s Computing & Graphics group is responsible for advanced CPU, GPU and gaming platforms such as Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam Deck. As a Post‑Silicon Power and Performance Staff Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring our custom silicon products meet power targets and are optimized for customer use cases. You will interact with architecture, software, manufacturing, and other teams to develop a deep understanding of the product power requirements and guide a team of engineers to develop and execute studies and test cases to validate that the product meets specifications. This role requires extensive data analysis and communication of results.

THE PERSON:

We are looking for a technical leader with experience in x86, ARM, or GPU hardware development with a passion for power or performance validation and optimization spanning low‑power mobile to console‑level devices. This person should thrive in a matrixed environment spanning multiple countries and time zones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own validation and tuning of power functionality and targets, collaborating with manufacturing and customer engineering to enable production.
  • Develop deep expertise in existing and new power features for AMD products.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior team members and guide them through the planning and execution phases of post‑silicon power attainment and optimization efforts.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Technical leadership of a large post‑silicon validation and tuning effort.
  • Direct technical experience working on CPU, APU, or GPU power or performance features.
  • Experience analyzing data using Excel, Python, PowerBI, Sigma, or similar tools.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, matrixed, and multi‑site technical organization.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
