Our Client, one of the world's leading providers of reinsurance & insuranceis seeking a person skilled and experienced in portfolio monitoring and market insights to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating insights and connect the business to proactively steer the business in delivering sustainable revenues.

Job Summary
  • This role focuses on effective portfolio management, specifically within the China market, encompassing activities from risk identification to initiative implementation and financial monitoring.
  • Responsibilities include supporting and driving initiatives to maximize portfolio value, managing experience monitoring, and assisting with inforce referrals and transactions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in team efforts to ensure high-quality deliverables and collaborate with Market Units, internal partners, and clients for effective portfolio management.
  • Support initiatives by providing portfolio insights and steering management actions to achieve sustainable profit.
  • Risk Identification and Monitoring: Identify and monitor key portfolio risks, rate review triggers, and financial KPIs, ensuring timely actions are taken.
  • Early Warning Systems: Identify early warning signals and manage portfolio risks proactively to protect inforce value and sustainability.
  • Facilitate Feedback Loops: Ensure effective information flow and alignment across relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Driving portfolioinitiatives for theChina market:
    • Portfolio Deep Dives: Conduct in-depth reviews of treaty profitability and propose performance improvement actions.
    • Repricing and Technical Reviews: Reprice reviewable rate treaties and/or provide technical peer reviews.
    • Quantitative Analysis: Complete quantitative experience analysis and valuation for recaptures or non-contractual changes in the inforce.
    • KPI Achievement: Drive initiatives to deliver on key financial KPIs and inforce solutions.
  • Analysis Production:Manage the production of regular and ad hoc monitoring analysis, including claims, retention/lapse, and other areas.
  • Business Steering Input:Provide key input for business steering and in-force management by communicating monitoring experience, lessons learned, and reserving implications to key stakeholders.
  • Rate Review Trigger Monitoring:Monitor treaty rate review triggers or internal KPIs to ensure timely action.
  • Referral Support: Support team leadership in providing referral review and approval on client treaty recapture and re-pricing activities requiring approval.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Partial qualified or qualified actuary with a recognized Actuarial body.
  • Minimum 5 years or more in insurance valuation or pricing experience in reinsurance or primary insurance.
  • Good technical knowledge in liability portfolio management, including experience analysis, product pricing and valuation, and financial performance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS 17 financial reporting and embedded valuation method.
  • Strong analytical skills, good understanding of financial reporting systems, actuarial models, and data management.
  • Experience in regular experience monitoring, identifying and investigating variance in experience and its root causes.
  • Fundamental understanding of the Asian insurance and reinsurance industry, and knowledge of the main products and services offered in the market.
