Job description
Portfolio Business Lead

Manage a portfolio of products through assigned Distributor/CSO partner in Malaysia which current size at approx. USD 38M with the opportunity to add more products ~ USD 15–25M in 3 years (OP period). The position requires good knowledge of the product operating environment and expertise in effective management of the entire distribution process and channels including close collaboration with all key internal and external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Set strategic vision to commercialize established portfolios through CSO partner(s)
  • Lead promoter business in cooperation with marketing & distributor team through full responsibility of sales performance, operational issues and P&L management.
  • Oversee the entire distribution process and channels, ensuring sustainable product availability and accessibility to patients
  • Design, develop & evaluate partnership with commercial colleagues in marketing and enabling functions related to distributions.
  • Manage and negotiate CSO business in terms of distributors contracts and partner in contract negotiations, termination and renewal processes.
  • Drive KPIs: Setting and driving key performance indicators with partners and deploying mitigation plans in case of underperformance
  • Set distribution goals and plan to manage different distribution channels and operations.
  • Ensure that relevant parties in different departments locally are aware of distribution management processes and what is required to ensure product availability from logistics point of view.
  • Lead regular business review with partners, ensure proper follow up on agreed action plans
  • Leverage both local and regional resources to support CSO management & facilitate continuous capability improvement of CSO partner(s).
  • Develop partnership and alignment with country cross function roles i.e. Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Medical, Legal & Compliance
  • Ensure high standards of compliance to norms, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or similar business or biological sciences. MBA preferred.
  • >15 years of broad pharmaceutical experience (marketing, strategy, sales, promoter and distributor management)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to drive cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed organization
  • Strong project management skills, negotiation & financial and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead projects with no clear roadmap towards bold and innovative outcomes
  • Highly collaborative and demonstrate ability to work well with teams
  • Demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
Shared Accountabilities:

Forecast brand performance and track progress towards targets

Organizational Relationships:
  • Reports to EM Asia Partnership Lead
  • Works closely with CSO Partner
  • Aligns key cross-functional stakeholders - medical, marketing, sales, regulatory, supply chain, channel managers and key accounts, legal, compliance, country and regional management, country functional colleagues
