A leading electronics manufacturing company in Kulai, Malaysia is seeking a Plant Operations Manager to oversee all plant operations, drive manufacturing excellence, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with 8-12 years of experience in electronics manufacturing and strong leadership skills. Responsibilities include production planning, team management, and continuous improvement initiatives through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Lead and manage all plant operations including production, quality, engineering, supply chain, maintenance, and EHS.
Drive manufacturing excellence in electronics production, ensuring delivery, quality, cost, and safety targets are achieved.
Develop and execute plant operational strategies aligned with business objectives and customer requirements.
Oversee production planning, capacity management, manpower allocation, and resource optimization.
Ensure strict compliance with electronics industry standards and quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001, IATF 16949, IPC standards where applicable).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Manage plant P&L, budgeting, cost control, and productivity improvement initiatives.
Lead and develop plant leadership teams, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and performance excellence.
Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, company policies, and local government requirements.
Coordinate closely with corporate management, customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
Lead new product introduction (NPI), production ramp-up, and plant expansion activities when required.
Bachelors Degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Electronics, or a related technical field.
Minimum 8-12 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a plant or operations management role.
Must have solid background in electronics manufacturing / EMS (e.g. PCB assembly, box build, semiconductor, electronics modules).
Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and manufacturing operations within the electronics industry.
Proven experience managing large manufacturing teams and multi-functional departments.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices.
Experience in managing plant startup, expansion, or turnaround projects is an advantage.
