Qualifications

Duties And Responsibilities
Clinical
  1. To review, interpret, transcribe, prepare and dispense drug prescriptions for all patients.
  2. To perform drug counselling when required.
  3. To provide up to date drug information to the medical practitioners, other healthcare providers and members of the public.
  4. To maintain and fulfil necessary records for hospital and legislative purposes.
  5. To be responsible for the storage, control, documentation and supply of Psychotropic, Dangerous Drugs and Controlled Drugs and proper maintenance of records.
  6. To maintain inventory control of Pharmacy and minimize wastage.
  7. To provide over the counter medication advice and counselling when required.
  8. To supervise Pharmacy Technicians and other support staffs within the department.
Administrative
  1. Responsible in managing the operational of the department in the absence of the Acting Senior Pharmacist.
  2. Give suggestion in periodic revising and upgrading of Pharmacy Policies and Procedures.
  3. To assist in the preparation of documentation and assist in conducting implementation of any program towards the accreditation system (eg. MSQH).
  4. To keep professionally up‑dated with current trends, research and development in field of practice.
Staff Development
  1. Maintain at all time the highest standard of professional practice and continue to update and extend professional knowledge and skills.
  2. Committed to personal development and continuing education by attending relevant courses, workshops, lectures and seminars.
Equipment And Medical Supplies
  1. Assist Acting Senior Pharmacist for care and maintenance of all Pharmacy equipment in the department and ensure the updating of Service Maintenance contracts.
  2. To coordinate and participate in stock take exercise and audit as scheduled by the hospital.

Jesselton Medical Centre is a new private medical centre located at Metro Town, Kota Kinabalu. It is a 8 storey building with 72 bedded ward, 23 Consultant rooms, 3 levels car parks and equipped with a Wellness centre, full Diagnostic centre, a radiology department with MRI 1.5 tesla, 640 slide MSCT, fluoroscopy, standard x‑ray, mammography, bone densitometry and ultrasound scan. A Physiotherapy centre, 24 hours Emergency & Trauma Department, Pathology testing laboratory, Haemodialysis centre, 3 Endoscopic Rooms, 3 Operating Theatres, 6 ICU beds and 7 Labour & Delivery Suites.
