A recruiting platform in Malaysia is looking for a Packaging Designer responsible for creating packaging solutions and coordinating with suppliers. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD, fluent in Mandarin, and possess experience in shipment packaging design. Responsibilities include optimizing costs, ensuring quality, and preparing validation plans for different shipping conditions. Experience in supplier management is also essential. This role offers an opportunity to innovate in packaging design while working with international clients.
Design packaging solutions based on the requirements, including related packaging and auxiliary materials (such as cartons, backing cards, core tubes, winding cores, EPE foam pads, etc.).
Coordinate with suppliers for sampling and clearly define standard requirements.
Develop and carry out validation plans based on different shipping destinations (e.g., high temperature, low temperature, high humidity, etc.) to verify that the packaging meets usage requirements, and prepare validation reports (with a focus on international sea freight).
Optimize costs by balancing packaging performance and cost, avoiding quality risks caused by over‑packaging or insufficient packaging. Analyze packaging material costs and reduce overall costs through structural optimization, material selection (e.g., substituting high‑cost materials), and standardized production.
Participate in supplier management, including supplier selection and qualification, and evaluate suppliers’ credentials, capacity, and quality stability.
Proficient in using office software (e.g. Microsoft Office);
Candidates fluent in Mandarin preferred as role requires candidate to deal with Mandarin speaking clients
Good ability in reading and creating technical drawings, with proficiency in CAD;
Candidates with experience in overseas/shipment packaging design are preferred.
