A leading safety solutions provider in Shah Alam is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and develop effective safety programs. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, along with at least 1-3 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and safety training. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong problem-solving skills are essential. This role offers opportunities for site travel and hands-on work on the factory floor.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) laws, regulations, and company HSE policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement control measures.
Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, procedures, and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and safety awareness training for employees and contractors.
Prepare and maintain essential safety documentation, including HIRARC/JSA, incident reports, and monthly safety reports.
Monitor workplace incidents and safety performance, analyze trends, and recommend continuous improvements.
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices.
Oversee contractor and vendor safety compliance, including review of risk assessments and Permit to Work (PTW).
Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, drills, and responses.
Liaise with department heads and authorities (e.g. DOSH) to ensure ongoing safety compliance and successful audits.
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or a related field.
Registered Safety Officer / SHO certification (DOSH / NIOSH) is preferred or required.
Minimum 1–3 years of working experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), DOSH regulations, and relevant safety standards.
Experience in conducting risk assessments (HIRARC/JSA), safety inspections, and incident investigations.
Familiar with safety documentation, reports, and audit requirements.
Ability to conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with employees, contractors, and authorities.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willing to travel to sites and work on the factory floor when required.
