Overview
The Operation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the KL branch. This role ensures smooth logistics activities, compliance with company standards, and excellent service delivery to customers. The executive will work closely with management to establish operational processes, monitor performance, and support business growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Branch Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate daily branch logistics operations (inbound, outbound, warehousing and distribution). Implement and monitor SOPs to ensure efficiency and compliance. Manage shipment scheduling, fleet coordination, and delivery timelines. Plan and optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency, cost effectiveness, and timely delivery. Supervise and drivers, warehouse staff, and supporting teams in day‑to‑day tasks.
- Customer & Service Management: Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding delivery status, service issues, and special requests. Ensure timely updates to customers on shipment tracking and problem resolution. Handle escalated service complaints and provide effective solutions.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all shipping and logistics documents (e.g., DO, invoices, packing lists, permits) are accurate and complete. Verify customer‑signed Delivery Orders (DOs) and ensure proper record‑keeping. Ensure branch operations comply with company policies, local regulations, and safety requirements.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track daily branch performance (delivery success rate, turnaround time, costs). Monitor and report subcontractor attendance, service quality, and overall performance. Recommend improvements to optimize costs, resources, and service quality.
- Support Functions: Assist in setting up and stabilizing branch operations, including workflow, manpower, and resource planning. Support recruitment, training, and onboarding of new branch staff. Work with HQ management to align branch activities with overall company goals.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations.
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes, delivery scheduling, and documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics/ERP software.
- Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and local dialects (advantageous).
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Leadership qualities with proven ability to supervise and coordinate teams.
- Willing to travel and support regional operations as required.
