Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical setup for new products, including process flows, BOM creation, and Item Card accuracy.
  • Build and manage the NPI schedule to ensure on-time FA builds and smooth mass production release.
  • Coordinate First Article (FA) builds and analyze results to secure customer approval.
  • Conduct DFM reviews to identify and prevent potential production issues early.
  • Perform technical feasibility and risk assessments for new RFQs.
  • Work with the Process team to prepare accurate machine and labour cycle time estimates.
  • Support the Program team with technical input on BOM structure and manufacturing complexity.
  • Serve as the main technical contact for customer questions, complaints and audits.
  • Prepare clear, data-driven reports for customers to communicate issues and get engineering approval.
  • Ensure all work instructions and quality documents meet internal QMS and customer requirements.
  • Mitigate single source risks by proposing and validating alternate MPNs for approval.
  • Ensure all alternate components comply with standards (e.g., RoHS etc.).
  • Work with SQE to resolve material cosmetic defects at suppliers and prevent defects from reaching production.
  • Manage ECN changes, ensuring documentation, training, and controlled implementation.
  • Support QA with quick RCA and prepare CAPA/8D reports for major yield or quality issues.
  • Collaborate closely with customers on technical requirements and solutions.
  • Lead CAPA, PFMEA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering field.

Experience: At least 3 to 5 years in high-volume manufacturing, preferably in electronics, PCBA, or electro-mechanical assembly.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of NPI (e.g., APQP), RFQ technical analysis and costing (including cycle time), SPC, statistical analysis, and RCA methods (8D, 5-Why).

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing formal reports and presenting technical information to customers.

Technical Skills and Tools: ERP/MRP systems: Agile, SAP and D365 applications; Quality standards: ISO 9001; IATF 16949 (added advantage); Manufacturing processes: PCBA, SMT, electro-mechanical assembly.
