A leading automotive manufacturing company in Johor is seeking a Production Engineer to lead trial production planning for new products. The role includes executing pilot runs, optimizing parameters, and collaborating with departments to improve launch efficiency. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, familiarity with automotive production processes, and at least 3 years of experience in project management and process engineering. Proficiency in MS Project and bilingual in Chinese/English is preferred.
SHB Malaysia Automotive Appliance Sdn Bhd – Kulai, Johor
Lead trial production planning for new products, developTrial Production Risk AssessmentandProcess Parameter Validation Matrix, ensuring pre-trial equipment, tooling, and material readiness rate ≥98%.
Execute pilot runs per APQP (e.g., first article validation, small-batch ramp-up), monitor key metrics (e.g., CPK ≥1.33), and achieve first-pass yield (FPY) ≥90% during initial mass production.
Identify design flaws (e.g., motor mounting hole deviations) and process bottlenecks (e.g., winding tension fluctuations) during trials; optimize parameters via DOE experiments to achieve issue closure rate ≥95%.
CompileTrial Issue Tracking List, collaborate with R&D for design changes (e.g., BOM updates, tolerance adjustments), and ensure design freeze status meets standards before mass production.
Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics department to establish rapid response protocols (e.g., 24-hour issue escalation channels), reducing abnormal downtime to ≤2 hours/occurrence.
Plan material handling solutions for trials (e.g., emergency air freight for missing parts), controlling trial cycle deviations to ≤±3 days.
Lead product transition to mass production, deliverManufacturability Assessment Report, and drive ≥3 design optimization proposals/project (e.g., simplified assembly steps, reduced tooling complexity).
DevelopStandardized Launch Manual, including process databases (e.g., torque parameter sets) and error-proofing guidelines (e.g., polarity detection SOP), improving launch efficiency for similar products by 20%.
Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Automation, or related fields; familiarity with IATF 16949 and VDA standards.
Knowledge of automotive seat motor production processes (e.g., stator winding, rotor dynamic balancing) and key quality control points.
≥3 years of experience in production launch/process engineering within automotive components is an addvantage, leading ≥2 full-cycle NPI projects (motor-related preferred).
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA) and quality analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, FMEA).
Digital launch capabilities (e.g., real-time trial monitoring via MES); familiarity with industrial engineering software (e.g., Tecnomatix Plant Simulation).
Fluent in Chinese/English for bilingual technical documentation and participation in global technical reviews.
