Job summary

A leading network services provider in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Network Engineer to manage and support all LAN and WAN elements. The role includes performing L3 troubleshooting, supporting day-to-day operations, and implementing new technologies. Job description

Oversees support of all Network elements in the organization including LAN & WAN links.

Support, BAU (day to day) network operations and implementation of new hardware and software for any new network implementations.

Perform L3 troubleshooting analysis on network related issues, document network problems and resolutions for future reference, monitor system performance and implement performance tuning for the related technologies.

Performs patches on network devices.

This role requires working permanent night shifts to support Canada region, working hours from 11:30 PM to 9 AM, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is required, with a strong focus on Fortinet/Fortigate and VPN technologies.

Preferably Senior Executives specializing in IT/Computer – Network (LAN/WAN and Firewall) Support.

Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CNE; PMP & ITIL are good to have.

Technical Skills

Systems: Cisco Systems (Catalyst, Nexus & Unified Communications), Firewall Setup & Admin (ASA, Checkpoint, PIX). Avaya, Nortel PABX exposure is a plus.

Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS/CoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS, VPN, SIP.
