Overview
The MES Engineer is responsible for the design, development, deployment, and support of Manufacturing Execution Systems. This role bridges the gap between production operations and enterprise-level systems, ensuring seamless data flow, system performance, and production efficiency through digitalization and automation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and implement MES solutions (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, AVEVA/Wonderware, etc.).
- Collaborate with production, quality, and IT teams to define MES requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Integrate MES with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), SCADA, PLCs, and other shop floor control systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot MES applications and interfaces to ensure high availability and performance.
- Participate in the rollout of MES projects across different manufacturing sites.
- Support the validation, testing, and documentation of MES systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and cybersecurity standards.
- Train end users and provide technical support for MES-related issues.
- Monitor data integrity, process efficiency, and system KPIs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working with MES platforms in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, and data flow.
- Hands-on experience with at least one MES software (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell, AVEVA).
- Experience with SQL, scripting languages (VBScript, Python, etc.), and system integration techniques.
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, and ERP systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
