Job Description:
Product Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies for lenses and contact lenses to achieve sales and profitability targets.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and new product opportunities.
- Analyze customer preferences and competitors to define product assortment and pricing strategies.
Vendor Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality, timely deliveries, and adherence to agreements.
Inventory and procurement
- Manage inventory levels across warehouse and outlets to ensure optimal inventory availability. Prevent stockouts or overstock situations, optimizing stock turnover rates.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory replenishment.
- Manage purchase budget and business contract commitment
- Ensure timely and accurate replenishment of stock to all outlets
Sales and Performance Analysis
- Monitor sales performance of lens and contact lens categories and take corrective actions to meet targets.
- Provide insights and reports to management on category performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
Documentation and daily operations
- Supervise the team daily operation and documentation process, ensuring all bulk order to suppliers, retail purchases, inter-outlet transfer, warranty and trade return customer service are perform seamless, accurate and on time.
- Match retail purchase orders with receiving records and tax documents to maintain data and accounting integrity
- Resolve any discrepancies in documentation and ensure compliance with company policies
- Strong time management to meet operation tight dateline
Team management
- Lead and train the team responsible for operational tasks, problem solving skills, familiar with retail system and distribution coordination
- Set performance goals and conduct regular reviews to ensure team efficiency
- Provide guidance and troubleshooting support for daily operational issues
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies and campaigns.
- Partner with store teams and optometrists to understand customer needs and improve product offerings.
- Work closely with IT for system enhancement towards operation excellence and retail support
- Collaborate with store managers, procurement teams and suppliers to ensure alignment across the supply chain.
Innovation and Customer Focus
- Attend for supplier’s new product launch and innovation for industrial knowhow
- Identify and introduce new products or innovations that cater to current customer lifestyle, demands and business challenges.
- Ensure product displays and merchandising align with brand standards to attract and engage customers.
Reporting and analysis
- Generate reports on stock sell in, sell out, inventory levels and category performance for lens and contact lens.
- Analyze sales trends and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Present data-driven recommendation to management for decision making
- Present retail performance for store manager to identify gaps and business improvement
Requirements
- Diploma/ Degree in Merchandising or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, procurement and distribution processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Proficient in using retail POS and inventory management system
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details
- Sense of urgency and business acumen
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
