Role Overview

As a Medical Consecutive Interpreter, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate clear, accurate, and professional communication between healthcare providers and patients with limited English proficiency.

Interpretation

• Accurately interpret medical conversations, including diagnoses, symptoms, treatments, and procedures between patients and healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, and clinical staff).

Cultural Mediation

• Assist patients in understanding healthcare processes and help providers navigate cultural nuances that may impact patient care.

Confidentiality & Ethics

• Strictly maintain patient confidentiality and comply with professional medical interpretation ethics and standards.

Documentation

• Record interpretation details such as date, time, duration, and type of service provided.

Professional Development

• Stay up to date with medical terminology, healthcare practices, and interpretation standards to ensure high-quality service delivery.
