Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Johor Bahru is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work on data center projects. The role involves collaborating on mechanical systems design, supporting construction sites, and ensuring compliance with specifications. Candidates should possess at least 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, an understanding of various mechanical equipment, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of AutoCAD and registration as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineering Malaysia is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years relevant working experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with pumps, cooling/HVAC, ACMV, cooling towers, chillers.
• Strong interpretation skills for engineering documents.

Responsibilities

• Work with team members on mechanical systems for data center projects.
• Support vendors and construction sites to meet project schedules.
• Develop design improvements for cost, risk, performance, and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications during installation.

Job description

Work closely with team members and actively participate in the design and advancement of mechanical systems for data center projects

Provide direct support to vendors and suppliers and construction sites to ensure project schedules are met, resolve anomalies, and streamline operations to improve efficiency

Develop design improvements that reduce cost and risk and/or improve performance and/or reliability

Support and participate in the installation and testing of mechanical equipment, ensure compliance with design specifications

Compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental policies

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

At least 3 years relevant working experience in mechanical design and an understanding of mechanical equipment such as pumps, cooling / HVAC, ACMV, cooling towers, chillers etc

Ability to read, interpret and understand the engineering documents such as P&IDs, Single Line Diagram (SLD), layout diagram and other project engineering related documents or procedures

Registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineering Malaysia

Knowledge in AutoCAD
