Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and student-oriented Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the operations that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for teaching the Mathematics subject to students at the school based on the teaching schedule given.
- Plan lessons, present information, promote discussion, assess performance, and modify learning techniques in the study of maths for students.
- To work closely with the School leadership team in preparing Schemes of Work and regularly monitor the achievements and progress of pupils.
- To plan appropriately to meet the needs of all pupils, through differentiation of tasks.
- To be able to set clear targets, based on prior attainment, for pupils’ learning.
- To provide a stimulating classroom environment where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils.
- To keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning.
- To maintain good order and discipline amongst all pupils, following the school's behaviour policy.
- Monitoring student performance and adjusting teaching strategies and techniques for improved content delivery.
- Establishing classroom, laboratory, and field trip rules and ensuring all students understand and accept them.
- Setting up exams, assessments, and experiments according to curriculum requirements and standards of the state and district.
- Communicate with students and parents through telephone calls and emails about student performance, goal setting, behaviour problems, and other issues.
- Conduct safety drills or lead guidance sessions when necessary throughout the school year for overall student security outside.
- Preparing and delivering instructional lessons that facilitate active learning.
- Creating lesson plans, assignments, and assessments to track student progress.
- Encourage active participation and monitor individual student performance to enhance their understanding and master skills.
- To take part in and contribute to meetings that relate to teaching/curriculum; co-operate with and, where appropriate, advise the Head of Schools and other colleagues in the review, preparation, and development of subjects within the school.
- To attend meetings and participate as required, e.g. Staff Meetings, Parents’ Meetings, and school social events.
- To plan, organise, and direct the work of support staff within the classroom.
- To attend relevant courses and to be aware of current trends in education.
- To prepare assemblies when required.
- To regularly report to parents on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils, in line with the Assessment Policy.
- To take part in school events and activities, which may take place on weekends or in the evening.
- To undertake supervisory duties, e.g. break, lunchtime, and team coaching duties.
- To participate in the performance management system for the appraisal of their performance.
- To adhere to all policies (including Health and Safety and Child Protection) and to raise any concerns to the appropriate person.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Maths or any related field.
- Teaching qualification (B.Ed or equivalent) preferred.
- 2–3+ years of teaching experience, ideally in an international school setting.
- Knowledge of the IGCSE/Add Maths curriculum.
- Excellent English and communication skills.
- Strong planning, classroom management, and student-support skills.
- Compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
