Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Johor Bahru is seeking a Material Planner to effectively manage inventory requirements and ensure materials are available for production. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, at least 2–4 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in ERP systems. Responsibilities include planning material requirements, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with production teams to optimize supply chain performance. Job description

To plan, coordinate, and control material requirements through effective demand analysis, inventory monitoring, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure timely material availability that supports uninterrupted production operations and on‑time customer delivery.

Key Responsibility

Plan and control material requirements to support production schedules and customer orders.

Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock balance and minimize excess or obsolete items.

Coordinate with production planners and warehouse teams to ensure the timely availability of materials for manufacturing activities.

Maintain accurate, organized, and up‑to‑date material planning records for operational transparency and traceability.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning accuracy and overall supply chain performance.

Monitor planning risks and ensure timely issue resolution to prevent material shortages.

Job Criteria

A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Certifications in Material Management, Production Planning, or Inventory Control.

Minimum 2–4 years of experience in material planning, inventory control, or production planning within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems for material planning.

Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM), production scheduling, and procurement coordination.

Ability to interpret sales forecasts and production plans to anticipate material requirements.

Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records.

Strong task prioritization and time‑management skills to meet tight deadlines.

Computer Skills: MS Office, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or similar WMS/ERP).

Possess a high level of integrity, responsibility, and commitment to accuracy in documentation and system updates.

High level of integrity and responsibility for sensitive material and inventory information.
